Recognitions and Accreditations

ELTE GTK is proud to communicate that, not long after becoming a faculty in 2021, it has already joined a prestigious organisation of business schools and has accumulated two recognitions and accreditations.

ELTE GTK is the first university/faculty in Hungary to become a member of the prestigious Business Graduates Association (BGA), an international membership and quality assurance body of world-leading and high-potential business schools (a network of more than 200 Business Schools on five continents), who share a commitment for responsible management practices and lifelong learning, and who are looking to provide positive impact on their students, communities, and the economy as a whole.

On the one hand, ELTE GTK's BGA membership is both a recognition of its achievements and its  commitment to BGA’s Charter Principles, which are built around integrity, social responsibility, economic impact, and continuous improvement. It also gives the Faculty access to valuable resources to support its further development. On the other hand, membership provides an excellent opportunity for ELTE GTK students and alumni to access to a wide range of tools supporting students’ professional and personal development through its Career Development Centre, webinars, social and learning events, etc. The BGA badge and certificate, available to members at a discounted price, undoubtedly looks attractive in the eyes of future employers all over the world. Since ELTE GTK becoming a member of the Association in 2021, nearly 150 ELTE GTK students and graduates have already signed up for free membership. Join here

Another highly acclaimed recognition received by the Faculty of Economics is the 4-Star Recognition by EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) after an on-site accreditation in 2022. EFQM is an independent, non-profit organisation, founded by 14 European corporations in 1988, primarily to support organisations in managing change and improving performance, thus increasing their competitiveness. The EFQM Model, against which ELTE GTK’s performance was also measured, is trusted, used, and consumed by over 50,000 organisations all over the world, including such distinguished and successful companies as BMW, Robert Bosch, Siemens, and Huawei.  The EFQM Model was adopted as the evaluation framework of the European Quality Award (EQA), and based on the EQA, European countries established their own national awards, among them the Hungarian National Quality Award (1996). ELTE GTK’s recognition attests its impressive achievements in its fairly short history as a Faculty and demonstrates to the world and, particularly, its stakeholders that the Faculty of Economics is committed to continuous improvement. On a national level, the EFQM recognition means the Silver Recognition, which may be the first step on the journey to winning the National Excellence Award.

Two of ELTE GTK’s programmes boast international accreditations by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the world's most prestigious professional body in the field of finance and accounting. ACCA has more than 233,000 members and 536,000 students in 178 countries, including 1,351 members and students in Hungary.

The Hungarian-language Accounting Master’s Programme received its accreditation in 2018 after the content, the structure, and the design of the programme, as well as its assessment regime, were all recognised as compatible with ACCA’s high standards. As a result, students on the Master’s in Accounting programme are exempted from six ACCA exams. A few years later the recognition was extended. As an exclusive opportunity in Hungary, from 2023 the Finance and Accounting BA students, who study the relevant subjects in English, can obtain exemption from five ACCA exams.

ACCA members, and already students who are successfully completing their ACCA studies, have a significant competitive advantage in the job market worldwide including, for instance, above-average salaries and easier promotion in the finance and accounting departments of multinational companies (e.g. in large accounting firms).

ELTE GTK is committed to gain more similarly positive feedback and recognition in the future by continuously monitoring and further improving the quality of its services.
